Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
• Administer oxygen, aerosol treatments, and ventilator support as prescribed
• Monitor patient responses and adjust therapy to optimize outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document treatments accurately and maintain detailed patient records
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment and home care techniques

Qualifications

• Active state license as a Respiratory Therapist (license verification required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Specialty Competency Testing
• Current COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations
• Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen and background check
• Physical/health statement and fit test clearance

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy modalities, including mechanical ventilation and oxygen therapy
• Ability to interpret blood gases and adjust care accordingly
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making in emergent situations
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and care teams
• Compassion and patience when caring for diverse patient populations
• Comfort using electronic health records and documentation systems
