Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional respiratory care to patients in critical and acute care settings
• Assess, treat, and manage patients with respiratory disorders
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator support
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and equipment

Qualifications

• Current and active Respiratory Therapist license in Iowa
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least 1 year of recent acute care experience preferred
• Willingness to complete a skills checklist and competency testing
• Up-to-date immunizations including COVID-19, influenza, MMR, varicella, Hepatitis B, and TB testing
• Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen and physical health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ventilator management and airway care
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of respiratory pharmacology and therapeutic procedures
• Comfortable with electronic health records and documentation
