Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, with every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to medical/surgical patients, with a specialty in post-operative oncology surgeries
  • Monitor telemetry and titrate IV drips like heparin, lidocaine, and TPN with confidence
  • Collaborate with charge nurses and the healthcare team to ensure timely, accurate documentation and positive patient outcomes
  • Advocate for patients by communicating effectively with patients, families, and providers
  • Float occasionally to other medical/surgical units when needed, bringing your expertise wherever it matters

Qualifications

  • Active RN license required for submission
  • Minimum 2 years of med/surg nursing experience, oncology experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • Experience with EPIC charting
  • Must pass an open-book orientation exam with a 90% or higher
  • Must live outside the 50-mile radius from CHI Health Lakeside and not be employed with any CommonSpirit facility
  • Valid driver's license required at submission
  • No artificial nails while providing patient care

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accurate and timely documentation
  • IV drip titration and telemetry monitoring
  • Knowledge of medical/surgical and oncology patient care
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced acute care environment
