Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during exams and procedures while ensuring patient comfort
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatories between patients
• Take and develop dental radiographs as directed
• Provide patients with clear post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education
• Maintain accurate patient records using Denticon software
• Manage inventory of orthodontic supplies and materials
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver exceptional patient care

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Orthodontic Certification
• Experience with Denticon practice management software preferred
• Maryland dental assistant certification or licensure as required by state regulations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and materials
• Proficiency in Denticon for charting and scheduling
• Skill in taking dental X-rays and maintaining sterilization protocols
• Understanding of infection control standards (OSHA/CDC)
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Compassionate patient care approach
