Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and neonates
• Interpret fetal heart strips and respond promptly to changes
• Titrate drips such as pitocin, insulin, and magnesium per protocol
• Collaborate with the charge nurse, CNAs, and providers to support safe deliveries and C-sections
• Float to MedSurg or ER as needed, bringing your adaptability wherever you're needed
• Educate families on newborn care and postpartum recovery
• Follow AWHONN guidelines and maintain quality metrics

Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or ND license)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• BLS certification required
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
• ACLS, NRP, and STABLE preferred
• Ability to read and interpret fetal strips
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Willingness to float to other units as needed

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted; BSN not required

• MEDITECH charting system
• AWHONN patient ratio guidelines
• Strong critical thinking and adaptability
