Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and confidence
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment for every patient
- Take and process dental X-rays and impressions with precision
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care in a friendly way
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans
- Keep the operatory and inventory stocked and ready for each appointment
Qualifications
- Current dental assistant certification or registration as required in Maryland
- X-ray certification preferred (but we can help you get it!)
- Previous orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
- A compassionate, patient-focused attitude that puts people at ease
- Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced dental office
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
- Comfort with dental software and digital charting
- Strong communication skills to connect with patients and teammates
- Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Team player who thrives in a supportive, high-energy setting
