Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to laboring mothers and their newborns throughout the birthing process
• Monitor maternal and fetal heart rates, labor progress, and vital signs to ensure a safe delivery
• Assist with spontaneous and cesarean deliveries and provide immediate care to newborns
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the healthcare team to achieve the best outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (or compact state license)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
• Ability to pass a health screening, drug screen, and background check
• Experience in Labor and Delivery is a plus, but new graduates are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and protocols
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
