Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the Medical ICU
• Continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurologic status, responding quickly to changes
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and perform life-saving interventions with confidence
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team to create and adjust patient care plans
• Communicate openly with families, providing support and education during stressful times
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately, maintaining compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or compact license) with license verification
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, 2-Step PPD or IGRA, and Physical/Health Statement required
• ICU or critical care experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in managing ventilators, drips, and ICU monitoring equipment
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and care team
• Knowledge of evidence-based critical care protocols
• Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations
• Compassion and empathy for patients and their loved ones
