Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
• Assist physicians during GI procedures such as colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and bronchoscopies.
• Monitor patients' vitals and sedation levels throughout procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Administer conscious sedation and medications as ordered, and respond quickly to any changes in patient status.
• Document patient care accurately in the EPIC electronic health record.
• Educate patients and families on procedure preparation, aftercare, and follow-up instructions.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York or a compact state (license verification required).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records.
• Availability for a 13-week assignment and willing to travel 75+ miles to the facility.
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty-specific competency testing.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of endoscopic procedures and GI lab workflow.
• Skill in patient monitoring and conscious sedation administration.
• Comfort with EPIC EHR documentation.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to stay calm in fast-paced situations.
• Teamwork and collaboration with physicians and nursing staff.
