Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans to help patients regain mobility and function
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities with patience and encouragement
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to supervising therapist
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Missouri or compact eligible
• Associate’s degree from an accredited PTA program
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise techniques and modality application
• Knowledge of rehabilitation principles for geriatric and post-acute populations
• Ability to adapt treatments based on patient needs and progress
• Proficient in documentation and electronic health records
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach
