Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed, maintaining accurate imaging records
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and brace care, providing clear instructions and encouragement
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and inventory of supplies
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits, ensuring a clean and organized environment
Qualifications
- Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) or equivalent orthodontic certification required
- Prior experience as a dental assistant, preferably in an orthodontic practice
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team members
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment

- Orthodontic procedures and techniques
- Dental radiography (X-ray) and safety protocols
- Patient charting and record keeping
- Sterilization and infection control standards
- Excellent patient care and customer service skills
