Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings and prophylaxis to maintain patient oral health
• Assess patients for signs of oral diseases and conditions
• Take and develop dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes
• Apply sealants and fluoride treatments to prevent cavities
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and at-home care
• Document patient care and treatment plans accurately
• Assist the dentist during procedures when needed
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program
• Current CPR certification
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures and instrumentation
• Knowledge of dental radiography and safety protocols
• Familiarity with dental software for patient records
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach
