Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to maintain a clean environment
• Take and process dental X-rays and digital images as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and proper care of braces and aligners
• Maintain accurate patient records and update Denticon charts efficiently
• Provide exceptional patient care with a warm, friendly approach

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-specific certification/registration preferred
• Maryland radiology/X-ray certification
• Experience in orthodontic assisting is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Familiarity with Denticon or other dental practice management software
• Great communication and patient-interaction skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, procedures, and infection control
• Skills in dental radiography and digital imaging
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively within a dental team
• Empathy and patience when working with patients of all ages
