Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough dental cleanings and preventive care to patients of all ages
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits
• Take and develop dental X-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow
• Maintain a sterile and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols
• Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records
• Build trusting relationships with patients through compassionate communication

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Proven experience in clinical dental hygiene
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental office
• Knowledge of dental software and digital radiography

Knowledge & Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of periodontal disease and preventive therapies
• Proficiency in taking and interpreting dental X-rays
• Strong understanding of OSHA and infection control standards
• Skilled in dental charting and treatment planning
• Effective patient education and coaching on oral health
• Familiarity with electronic dental records (EDR) systems
