Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures and ensure a comfortable visit
• Assist the orthodontist with chairside procedures including braces, aligners, and retainers
• Take dental radiographs and impressions as directed
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment charts

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Orthodontic Assistant certification preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Experience in an orthodontic dental assisting setting
• X-ray certification for Maryland
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work afternoon and evening shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
• Proficiency with Denticon or similar dental practice management software
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail in sterilization and infection control
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach
