Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during procedures like braces adjustments and retainers
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Take dental radiographs and impressions
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and appliance care
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or registration in Maryland
• X-ray certification preferred
• Prior orthodontic or dental assisting experience is a plus
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a dental assisting program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Proficient in taking digital x-rays
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent bedside manner with patients of all ages
