Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist during procedures, ensuring smooth patient care
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
• Take and develop dental x-rays and impressions
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
• Support a positive and efficient office workflow

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Dental Assistant (CDA/RDA) in Maryland
• Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) certification
• Experience in orthodontic assisting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with a focus on patient comfort

Education

• Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology
• Proficiency with dental software and digital x-rays
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Commitment to infection control and safety standards
