Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Provide compassionate support to promote dignity, comfort, and independence
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Help with safe transfers and use of assistive devices to prevent falls
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies to protect residents and staff
• Communicate kindly and clearly with residents, families, and the care team

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-first attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• GNA certification or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and elder care needs
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Good infection control practices and understanding of PPE use
• Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset
• Attention to detail for charting and following care plans
