Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care to children and adolescents ages 6-18 on an inpatient behavioral unit
• Administer medications and provide thorough education to patients and families
• Document patient care daily and manage/monitor behaviors throughout the unit
• Participate in and lead education groups for patients
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic care
• Float to Chemical Dependency/Detox as needed

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required
• At least 1 year of previous nursing experience required; 1-3 years preferred
• Experience working with psychiatric patients, particularly adolescents, is a plus

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkers
• Strong professional boundaries and ability to handle stressful situations
• Self-directed and proactive, able to stay busy during downtime
• Dedicated team player with a collaborative spirit
• Proficient in medication administration, patient care documentation, and behavior management
