Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for a variety of surgical procedures, including open heart and orthopedic surgeries
• Act as a sterile scrub tech, passing instruments and supplies to surgeons efficiently during procedures
• Maintain a strict sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow and patient safety
• Participate in on-call rotation, responding promptly for emergency surgeries
• Document case details accurately in EPIC and assist with room turnover between cases

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a busy operating room environment
• Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent
• Current BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• EPIC experience a must
• Willingness to take call (one night every 2 weeks, one weekend every 6 weeks)
• Ability to handle fast-paced surgeries and adapt to changing case load

Knowledge & Skills

• Surgical scrub and sterile technique expertise
• Knowledge of open heart, orthopedic, and general surgical procedures
• EPIC charting system proficiency
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in the OR
• Time management and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Understanding of surgical instruments and supplies
