Speech Therapist - Traveler
Location: Olympia Fields, Illinois
Start Date: 03-08-2026
End Date: 01-11-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week; preferred schedule is 3 days inpatient/2 days outpatient or 5 days inpatient (specific start/end times to be confirmed upon assignment)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and needs
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to provide coordinated care
- Document patient progress, outcomes, and response to therapy accurately and timely
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs
- Adapt treatment approaches to meet diverse patient populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- DCI/BVP certification or documented experience
- Prior travel therapy experience preferred but not required
- Strong clinical reasoning and patient assessment skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation systems
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Adaptability to different clinical environments and patient populations
