Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Three 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, plus rotating call (short call 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM or long call 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and one to two 24-hour weekend calls (Saturday or Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM) on a six-week rotating grid

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, expert nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
• Assist the surgical team with intraoperative nursing, instrumentation, and patient monitoring
• Prepare operating rooms with sterile supplies and maintain strict safety protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Provide post-operative assessment and support during patient recovery
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency and weekend surgical procedures

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Rhode Island (Nursys verification required)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Successful completion of CNE Skills Checklist, Specialty Competency Exam, Basic EKG Exam, Pharmacology Exam, and Core Competencies
• Previous operating room nursing experience preferred
• Ability to handle on-call shifts, including evenings and weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of surgical asepsis and sterile technique
• Proficient with operating room equipment, instrumentation, and supplies
• Solid knowledge of EKG interpretation and pharmacology principles
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Calm, focused, and adaptable in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
