Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients with communication and swallowing disorders
• Develop individualized treatment plans to meet each patient's unique goals
• Implement evidence-based therapy techniques to improve speech and language skills
• Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, physicians, and family members
• Provide education to patients and families on therapeutic techniques and home exercises

Qualifications

• Active Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of Maine
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
• BLS certification required
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of speech and language development and disorders
• Familiarity with swallowing disorders and treatment techniques
• Experience with electronic documentation systems
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach
