Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor ventilated patients in a dedicated vents unit, ensuring safe ventilator settings and troubleshooting as needed
• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and deliver evidence-based respiratory therapies
• Collaborate closely with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans
• Document accurate, timely clinical notes in MatrixCare and maintain clear handoffs
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide advanced airway support as required
• Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment, ensuring proper infection control and safety

Qualifications

• Active WI respiratory therapist license required
• RRT or CRT accepted
• 2+ years of current respiratory care experience, with long-term care experience preferred
• MatrixCare experience preferred
• Ability to pick up a minimum of 2-3 per diem shifts per month and keep up in a fast-paced vents unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and ventilator troubleshooting skills
• Experience working in long-term care environments and with medically complex patients
• Comfortable in fast-paced clinical settings and responding to urgent respiratory needs
• Proficient with clinical documentation systems, preferably MatrixCare
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
