Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons during wisdom tooth extractions and other surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Monitor and record patient vital signs (blood pressure and pulse oximetry) before, during, and after surgery to keep them safe and comfortable
• Administer nitrous oxide and assist with IV sedation under the direction of the oral surgeon
• Take and process panoramic X-rays to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Provide clear, compassionate post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers for a smooth recovery
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, maintaining a sterile and organized environment

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a dental assistant in an oral surgery or surgical setting is preferred
• Hands-on experience with nitrous oxide and IV sedation
• Skilled in taking panoramic X-rays and monitoring vital signs
• Knowledge of wisdom tooth surgery procedures and post-operative care
• Excellent communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced surgical team
