Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments to prepare pediatric patients for surgery
• Coordinate closely with the surgical team to ensure all pre-op protocols are followed
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families before procedures
• Administer medications and IVs safely and accurately as ordered
• Maintain detailed, accurate patient records and documentation
• Create a calm, safe, and reassuring environment for children and their loved ones

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Current BLS certification (PALS preferred for pediatric setting)
• Previous pre-operative or surgical nursing experience is a plus
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of pre-operative nursing standards and protocols
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Ability to quickly assess patient status and identify potential risks
• Compassionate, child-friendly bedside manner
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
