Speech-Language Pathologist - Long-Term Care
Location: Humansville, Missouri
Start Date: 09-14-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour days, flexible start between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM; no weekends, no on-call
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders to help them thrive.
- Develop personalized plans of care that meet all regulatory and clinical practice standards.
- Use standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions.
- Track each patient's progress, adjust treatments as needed, and maintain detailed records in our electronic system.
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other providers to support communication and recovery.
- Collaborate with supervisors and the health care team to discuss progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
- Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries and accurately document treatment minutes.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and facility trainings.
- Support and supervise CFY and student speech-language pathologists.
- Follow ASHA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics at all times.
Qualifications
- Active Missouri State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- At least one year of SLP experience (new grads with Level II clinical experience are welcome)
- Long-term care or rehabilitation experience required
- A submitted reference at the time of application
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and treatment planning
- Strong clinical documentation habits
- Evidence-based practice in speech-language pathology
- Experience in long-term care and rehabilitation settings
- Ability to supervise CFY or student SLPs
- Excellent communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with ASHA and Missouri state regulations
