Location: Moore, Oklahoma

Start Date: 09-14-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour days; flexible start time between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM. No weekends. On-call schedule determined by facility.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients with cognitive and ADL physical functioning disorders to create personalized, evidence-based care plans
  • Implement therapeutic activities, exercises, and modalities that help patients regain independence and improve quality of life
  • Monitor patient progress closely and adjust treatments as needed for optimal outcomes
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary rehab team to ensure holistic care
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families to support recovery and adjustment
  • Document all clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings to advocate for your patients
  • Supervise and mentor occupational therapy assistants, rehab aides, and occupational therapy students
  • Plan comprehensive discharge strategies that ensure continuity of care and long-term success
  • Adhere to NBCOT and state practice standards, maintaining the highest ethical and professional conduct

Qualifications

  • Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Oklahoma - required at time of submission
  • Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience - required
  • Long-term care or rehabilitation experience - required
  • New graduates welcome if you have Level II fieldwork in a relevant setting (not just Level I observation)
  • Current skills checklist (within 1 year) and 0-1 professional references required at submission
  • Must be able to pass a background check and meet all state regulatory requirements

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong clinical reasoning in evaluating and treating ADL and cognitive disorders
  • Experience with standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
  • Proficiency in therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and modalities
  • Knowledge of assistive devices and DME, including fitting and training
  • Excellent clinical documentation and attention to detail
  • Sad communication skills for patient counseling and family education
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Skilled in discharge planning and making appropriate referrals
  • Capability to supervise and support support staff and students
