Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adults and geriatrics on a fast-paced PCU/Stepdown unit.
• Monitor telemetry and continuous EEG, quickly identifying and responding to changes in patient status.
• Titrate critical infusions such as Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications according to protocol.
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab units as needed to support hospital operations.
• Document accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nebraska or compact state) required at submission.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown experience.
• Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Valid driver's license required for mileage radius determination.
• Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with a 90% or higher during orientation.
• Willingness to float to Medical floors, ICU, or rehab units.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in drip titration for cardiac and seizure medications.
• Experience monitoring continuous EEG and telemetry.
• Working knowledge of EPIC charting.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
