Shift Type: Variable shifts (8/10/12-hour) including Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays; on-call shifts 0-3 times per month (8-hour nights and 24-hour weekends/holidays)

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients in pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery
• Monitor vital signs, assess incision sites, and track recovery indicators to ensure patient stability
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgical teams to manage post-operative care
• Administer medications and manage pain control following procedures
• Educate patients and families on post-operative instructions and discharge care
• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and EHR systems (Meditech, PointClick) to document care

Qualifications

• Current and valid Hawaii RN license (or ability to obtain before start - required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (ER or ICU) as an RN; PACU experience preferred
• Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
• PALS certification preferred (may be required)
• NIHSS, TNCC, or other specialty certifications are a plus
• Strong critical thinking and anesthesia awareness skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and critical thinking
• Knowledge of anesthesiology and post-anesthesia recovery
• Experience with Meditech, Pyxis, PCA pumps, and Braun IV pumps
• Familiarity with Philips and HP monitors, SCDs, and Bair PAWS warmers
• Proficiency in Phase I and Phase II recovery care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
