Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for patients with neurological conditions in the stepdown unit
• Monitor and assess patient neurological status and vital signs, intervening as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and post-discharge instructions
• Document patient care accurately and maintain comprehensive medical records

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in stepdown, telemetry, or critical care nursing
• Experience with neurological patients or neuro stepdown preferred
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of neuro stepdown nursing practices and protocols
• Proficiency in patient assessment and monitoring equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach
