Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist orthodontists during examinations, procedures, and appliance adjustments
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to the highest standards
  • Take and develop dental X-rays with precision and care
  • Educate patients and their families on orthodontic care and oral hygiene
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans
  • Manage inventory of orthodontic supplies and ensure seamless office operations

Qualifications

  • Active Dental Assistant certification (CDA/RDA) or eligibility to obtain
  • Radiology certification (dental X-ray license) is required
  • Previous orthodontic assisting experience is a plus, but training may be provided
  • Excellent communication skills with a patient-first mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive attitude and passion for creating beautiful smiles

Knowledge & Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control protocols
  • Familiarity with orthodontic appliances, brackets, wires, and retainers
  • Proficiency in dental software for charting and scheduling
  • Great interpersonal skills to ease patient anxiety and build rapport
  • Ability to anticipate the orthodontist's needs and work seamlessly as a team
