Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition with accuracy and compassion
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and update care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the chart
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Respond to changes in patient status quickly and escalate when needed
• Support unit flow by coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in California (or ability to obtain)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and/or PALS preferred where applicable
• Previous clinical experience in acute care, med-surg, or telemetry preferred
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently on per diem assignments and integrate quickly with unit teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) acceptable
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment and vital signs monitoring
• Experience with medication administration and IV therapy
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Comfortable using electronic medical record systems for documentation
• Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with patients and staff
