Roles & Responsibilities

• Care for MedSurg/Tele patients, including stroke, post-neurosurgery, and stable neurological deficit patients
• Monitor telemetry and collaborate with tele techs for rhythm interpretation
• Titrate drips such as heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine while managing PCA pumps
• Perform hourly rounding and respond promptly to patient needs
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers to keep patient flow moving
• Work as a team player with patient care techs and charge nurses to deliver exceptional care

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• At least 2 years of MedSurg or Telemetry experience
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Travel experience is preferred, but strong candidates without it are welcome to apply
• Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a 90% or higher

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid MedSurg and Telemetry clinical knowledge
• Ability to handle a 1:5-6 patient assignment
• Understanding of stroke care and neurological deficit management
• Basic telemetry awareness and ability to read strips
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and cultural sensitivity with diverse patient populations
