Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to medical-surgical patients with varying acuity levels
• Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and respond quickly to changes
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to create and update care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and self-care
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or a compact state
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
• Previous med/surg or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Medication administration, including IV therapy and pain management
• Wound care and post-operative care
• Communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with the healthcare team
• Time management and adaptability in a dynamic environment
