Shift Type: Night shift; 8, 10, or 16-hour shift options; days vary and may include weekends

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage a dynamic patient assignment of 5-6 medical-surgical patients in a high-tempo admission unit
  • Coordinate care for general medical patients and surgical patients preparing for surgery
  • Partner with the healthcare team to facilitate rapid admissions and discharges throughout your shift
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Work independently while prioritizing patient safety, quality, and clinical excellence
  • Document accurately and maintain compliance with Grady Health System policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in Georgia or compact state (Nursys verification required)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
  • Ability to provide work history with no gaps greater than 60 days, skills checklist, references, and certification card
  • A 'can-do' attitude and a love for the energy of a rapid admission unit

  • Strong medical-surgical clinical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
  • Time management and prioritization in an acute, fast-paced setting
  • Comfort with electronic health records and hospital workflows
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing patient needs and priorities
