Roles & Responsibilities

Coordinate nursing care procedures for residents of various ages
Participate in patient and family teaching
Provide leadership and work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other healthcare team members
Make sound nursing judgments in emergency environments
Delegate and supervise CNA/Tech, LPN, and/or Ward Clerk on unit during shift

Qualifications

Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state
Basic Life Support certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred
Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire and every year

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate's degree in nursing or Diploma in nursing)

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of nursing care principles, practices, diagnosis, and processes
Competency to recognize adverse signs and symptoms and act promptly in emergency situations
Skills to apply scientific principles in operating and monitoring basic and specialized medical equipment
Proficient in nursing procedures and basic nursing care
Oral and written communication skills
