Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate nursing care procedures for residents of various ages
- Participate in patient and family teaching
- Provide leadership and work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other healthcare team members
- Make sound nursing judgments in emergency environments
- Delegate and supervise CNA/Tech, LPN, and/or Ward Clerk on unit during shift
Qualifications
- Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state
- Basic Life Support certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred
- Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
- High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire and every year
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate's degree in nursing or Diploma in nursing)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of nursing care principles, practices, diagnosis, and processes
- Competency to recognize adverse signs and symptoms and act promptly in emergency situations
- Skills to apply scientific principles in operating and monitoring basic and specialized medical equipment
- Proficient in nursing procedures and basic nursing care
- Oral and written communication skills
