Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert care to mothers and newborns during labor and delivery
• Monitor fetal heart tones and maternal vital signs, responding quickly to changes
• Assist with deliveries, including natural births and cesarean sections
• Educate and empower families through the birthing process
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of nurses, physicians, and specialists
• Document patient care accurately and advocate for the best outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• Previous L&D experience is a plus but we welcome passionate nurses ready to grow
• Strong communication and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rewarding environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and delivery nursing best practices

• Maternal and neonatal assessment
• Emergency response in obstetrics
• Patient and family education
• Electronic health records (EHR) proficiency
