Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to laboring mothers and their families
• Monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rates throughout labor and delivery
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency obstetric interventions
• Support new parents with breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery education
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the care team to ensure safe outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Louisiana or compact state
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• NRP certification preferred
• Labor and delivery nursing experience preferred
• Ability to think quickly and act calmly in high-pressure situations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of obstetric emergencies, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Comfortable using electronic health records
• Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
