Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care for a group of patients within a designated timeframe
• Assess patients' biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning needs
• Plan and prescribe nursing interventions based on the nursing process
• Implement nursing interventions and evaluate the care rendered
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan
• Interpret patient data and provide care according to unit and hospital policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (verification through LARA and Nursys required)
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties (preferred for other professions)
• Not a full-time McLaren employee within the past six months
• Ability to provide a written explanation for any license hits or discrepancies
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of the nursing process
• Skilled in patient assessment and care planning
• Knowledge of biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental factors affecting patient health
• Ability to assess age-appropriate care needs across the lifespan
• Capable of interpreting clinical data and making sound care decisions
