Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Triage patients quickly and efficiently to determine priority of care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders
• Monitor patients closely for changes in condition and respond promptly
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Maintain a calm, composed presence during high-stress situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact state
• Current BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
• ACLS certification preferred
• PALS certification preferred
• Previous emergency department experience is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills
• Ability to stay organized and focused in a high-acuity environment

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of emergency nursing protocols and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) charting
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a fast-paced team
• Strong prioritization and multitasking abilities
• Empathy, patience, and resilience when caring for diverse patient populations
