Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assess patients to determine their rehabilitation needs and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Plan and implement evidence-based treatment programs that help patients regain function and independence
  • Document patient progress accurately to ensure continuity of care
  • Delegate and supervise physical therapist assistants and support staff to deliver high-quality care
  • Coordinate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize recovery
  • Serve as a clinical instructor and mentor for PT and PTA students, shaping the next generation of therapists
  • Educate patients and families on their condition, treatment, and preventive strategies for long-term wellness
  • Apply a wide range of treatment modalities tailored to each patient's age, condition, and goals

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited university with a degree in Physical Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate) that meets Michigan licensure requirements
  • Eligible for licensure in the state of Michigan
  • Successful completion of all fieldwork placements
  • Demonstrated competency in physical therapy principles and techniques
  • Field experience in physical therapy

Education

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

  • Physical therapy principles and techniques

  • Age-specific care from birth through geriatrics
