Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in residents of a skilled nursing facility
• Develop individualized care plans to improve communication and swallowing function
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
• Educate families and caregivers on supporting patients’ communication goals
• Comply with all state and federal regulations and facility standards

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee Speech-Language Pathologist license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dysphagia evaluation and treatment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems
• Understanding of Medicare and insurance billing for therapy services
