Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in residents of a skilled nursing facility
- Develop individualized care plans to improve communication and swallowing function
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
- Educate families and caregivers on supporting patients’ communication goals
- Comply with all state and federal regulations and facility standards
Qualifications
- Current Tennessee Speech-Language Pathologist license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of dysphagia evaluation and treatment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems
- Understanding of Medicare and insurance billing for therapy services
