Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures, ensuring comfort and clear communication
- Assist the orthodontist with braces, retainers, and other orthodontic appliances
- Take and develop dental X-rays with precision and care
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments, following strict infection control protocols
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care for optimal results
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-specific dental assistant certification
- Radiography certification and experience taking dental X-rays
- Prior experience in orthodontic assisting is a plus
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
- Proficient in dental software and record keeping
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on patient safety and comfort
