Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and expert emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform comprehensive assessments, triage, and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced environment
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans
• Accurately document patient information using the EPIC electronic health record system
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Respond effectively to emergencies, including trauma and critical conditions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or a compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Ability to pass an open book orientation exam with a score of 90% or higher
• Compliance with facility fingernail policy (no artificial nails in patient care areas)

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in emergency triage and patient stabilization
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-acuity setting
• Knowledge of ACLS protocols and BLS procedures
• Computer proficiency with electronic health records, especially EPIC
