Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist during patient exams, procedures, and adjustments
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed
• Provide patients with clear instructions and post-procedure care guidance
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
• Keep operatories clean, organized, and stocked with supplies
• Support a friendly, efficient, and patient-focused office environment

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification and X-ray license in Maryland (or ability to obtain quickly)
• Orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work evening shifts and follow scheduling needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, brackets, and wires
• Sterilization and infection control best practices
• Attention to detail in charting and recordkeeping
• Team collaboration and positive interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to different patient needs
