Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in a high-acuity Cardiovascular Operating Room, ensuring patient safety and smooth case flow
• Prepare and maintain the OR environment for complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Collaborate with a team of approximately 25 surgeons and OR staff to deliver exceptional patient care
• Assist with a variety of cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, kidney transplant, robotics, and hybrid procedures
• Utilize Epic EMR for accurate documentation and communication
• Respond to call within 30 minutes when scheduled
• Support 24/7 in-house coverage by adapting to shift and scheduling needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of CVOR circulating experience
• Epic EMR proficiency
• Scrub experience preferred but not required
• Ability to manage high-acuity, fast-paced surgical cases

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
• Experience with CABG, MVR, AVR, robotics, aortic repair, TAVR, TEVAR/EVAR, and ECMO
• Ability to work with a variety of surgeons and adapt to different techniques
• Excellent critical thinking and communication skills in high-pressure situations
• Familiarity with perioperative nursing standards and sterile technique
