Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, keeping the treatment area ready for every patient
- Take and process dental X-rays and digital scans with precision
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate patient records, including Denticon charting and treatment notes
- Provide a warm, welcoming experience for every patient from check-in to check-out
Qualifications
- State dental assistant certification or licensure as required in Maryland
- Experience in orthodontics or a strong desire to specialize
- Familiarity with Denticon or the ability to learn quickly
- A genuine passion for patient care and teamwork
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and sterilization protocols
- Proficiency in dental software, especially Denticon
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with patients of all ages
- Excellent organization and time management abilities
- Attention to detail with patient records and compliance
