Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures such as braces adjustments and retainers
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
• Ensure the treatment area is clean, organized, and stocked with supplies

Qualifications

• Certified dental assistant or completion of an accredited dental assisting program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience in orthodontics is a plus
• X-ray certification in Maryland is required
• Strong communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and procedures
• Proficiency in dental radiography
• Understanding of infection control standards
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients of all ages
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
