Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures such as braces adjustments and retainers
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
- Ensure the treatment area is clean, organized, and stocked with supplies
Qualifications
- Certified dental assistant or completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience in orthodontics is a plus
- X-ray certification in Maryland is required
- Strong communication and patient care skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and procedures
- Proficiency in dental radiography
- Understanding of infection control standards
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients of all ages
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
