Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Location: Parkville, Maryland

Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem shifts, 12:30 PM - 8:00 PM; days vary based on office needs
Candidate Pay Rate: $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms
- Take dental X-rays and impressions as directed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Manage patient records and update treatment plans using Denticon
- Ensure a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for every patient
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or license as required by Maryland
- Experience in orthodontics is preferred but not required - we are happy to train the right candidate
- Radiography (X-ray) certification is a plus
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist chairside
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental/orthodontic instruments and procedures
- Familiarity with Denticon or similar dental practice management software
- Understanding of infection control and sterilization standards
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring chairside manner
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
