Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms
• Take dental X-rays and impressions as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Manage patient records and update treatment plans using Denticon
• Ensure a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for every patient

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or license as required by Maryland
• Experience in orthodontics is preferred but not required - we are happy to train the right candidate
• Radiography (X-ray) certification is a plus
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist chairside
• CPR/BLS certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental/orthodontic instruments and procedures
• Familiarity with Denticon or similar dental practice management software
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization standards
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring chairside manner
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
